We have a number of specialized resources and services provided for a Person with Disabilities to reach their Employment Goal.
- Adaptive Resource Room Equipment: Adjustable work station; desk top height; keyboard tray; ergonomic chair with adjustable seating and arm rests; track ball mouse; earphones with microphone; current workstation for persons with disabilities with basic accommodation for persons with sight, hearing and mobility disabilities
- Adaptive Software: JAWS (for visual impairments); Text Aloud (low literacy assistance); and Microsoft Office accessories
- Small library of relevant employment materials for persons with disabilities (e.g. How Difficult Can It Be – for persons with learning disabilities)
Also, Specialist Counsellors will partner, according to your need, with specialized agencies to assist you in overcoming barriers, including the Neil Squire Society (for persons with physical disabilities); WIDHH (Western Institute for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing); CNIB (Blind and Visually Impaired); THEO BC (for mental health issues and disabilities); BCPA (BC Paraplegic Association); BC Centre for Ability; and other local Community Services for a wide array of resources and services.
